The Lantern at midnight, all ghost-light and shadow. Rook waited in the stalls, hands in his pockets, looking at the empty stage like a man reading a bad review.
"Give me a name that'll hold in a court," he said.
You had a pattern. A pattern isn't evidence. Satellite views give you patterns; street corners give you proof. You didn't have enough of the second yet, and Rook's face said he knew it.
"You could go back," said Jonah quietly. "Dig some more."
"Or," you said, "we could bluff."
